Greater Lufkin Auto Auction Policies


Registration

  • Any person entering the property must immediately register with the Greater Lufkin AA business office.
  • Greater Lufkin AA will require all Dealers to complete registration information and additional information if requested.
  • A Copy of the Current State Dealers License must be submitted with all current registration information.
  • The Greater Lufkin AA business office must be notified in writing regarding any changes involving the registration information.
  • All dealers must be registered with Greater Lufkin AA.
  • Greater Lufkin AA reserves the right to access credit reporting agencies to obtain and verify credit history.

Business Policies

  • All persons on Greater Lufkin AA property agree to abide by all Federal, State, County, and Municipal ordinances and laws.
  • All persons agree to abide by all policies, procedures, and decisions of Greater Lufkin AA.
  • All vehicles on the premises may be reviewed by any governmental law enforcement agency.
  • Greater Lufkin AA reserves the right to refuse anyone the use of its services.
  • No guarantees or representations are made regarding any vehicle.
  • All transactions are subject to final approval through Greater Lufkin AA Management.
  • Disputed transactions must be immediately reported to management.
  • GLAA reserves the right to search any package or vehicle entering or exiting the property.
  • GLAA makes no guarantees regarding vehicle mileage.
  • Dealers or agents damaging vehicles or property are liable for repair costs.
  • GLAA reserves the right to charge $30/day storage fees for units left on the property.

Liability

  • GLAA assumes no liability for physical damage, theft, or any general liability related to vehicles.
  • All buyers, sellers, consigners, agents, and guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless GLAA and its agents from any claims or liability.

Sale Procedures

  • GLAA is not responsible for any representations made by sellers or third parties.
  • Only announcements made by the auctioneer on behalf of the seller are valid.
  • Payment is due on sale day unless otherwise agreed by GLAA Management.
  • Units unpaid after 24 hours will incur a $50/day late fee.

Seller Responsibilities

  • Ensure the vehicle is safe for public roads or disclose otherwise.
  • Provide a marketable, lien-free title within 30 business days.
  • Assist GLAA in obtaining a duplicate title if needed.
  • Pay fees for vehicles returned due to title issues or arbitration.
  • Pay reasonable transportation charges.

Seller Declarations

  • Accurate description, mileage, condition, and disclosures including air bags, frame, title issues, and emissions.
  • Disclose unsafe driving condition before sale.

Buyer's Responsibility

  • Inspect vehicles before bidding.
  • Verify printed year and mileage.
  • Make bids known and acknowledge winning bids.
  • Sign block ticket after winning.
  • Inspect purchases within one hour or before leaving.
  • Pay by draft, cash, floor plan or check on sale day.
  • Remove vehicles within 45 days or incur $150/day storage fee.
  • Vehicles left over 90 days will be disposed of with proceeds covering fees.

Titles

  • If title is not received within 30 business days, buyer may return vehicle with 24hr notice.
  • No improvements before receiving title. Buyer is responsible if done.
  • Returned vehicles must match condition and not exceed 300 miles.
  • Sellers must declare salvage/branded titles. Buyer may return such vehicles with up to $300 transport reimbursement from seller.

"IF" Bids

  • Buyers must follow up on "IF" bids. Seller has 24 hours to respond.
  • Accepted "IF" bids are final; buyer must pay immediately.

Vehicles Leaving the Premises

  • No vehicle leaves without a gate pass or proof of payment.
  • Buyers must judge condition before bidding.

Payments

  • Thursday sales must be paid the same day; grace period is 48 hours or following Monday by 5 PM.
  • Late payment fee of $200 per unit applies after that.
  • Payments must be made by cash, floor plan, or business check.
  • No personal checks. Purchases over $100K require wire or ACH.
  • Check limits: $99,999 each; only one title needed if one check for multiple units.
  • Floor plan use must be pre-approved by GLAA.
  • AR fees must be paid within 7 days to stay in good standing.

Post Sale Inspection (PSI) Guidelines 2025

  • Inspection to meet NAAA standards (with few exceptions)
  • Guaranteed against single item defects over $800
  • All PSI’s must be requested within 2 hours of the vehicle crossing the auction block per Bill of Sale timestamp or 1 hour after the last vehicle has crossed the block and the sale has ended. Whichever occurs first – includes all IF cars (even those waiting approval)
  • Regular PSI’s will not be offered on certain makes of vehicles including but not limited to:
    • Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Corvette, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Maserati, Porsche, Range Rover, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, and Tesla. High-Performance vehicles, Race Cars, Hybrids, Electric cars.
    • Cadillac, Lexus, Subaru, Volvo, VW, Police and Government vehicles that are 8 years or less or over 100,000 miles.
    • No diesels will be inspected to Green Light Standards. All Diesels inspected up to yellow light standards only.
    • Vehicles run as a special (S) under $3000 bid price, lemon buyback, flood damage, true miles and unknown and salvage titles, Structural damage.
    • No guarantee on any Nissan CVT transmission, No Dodge/Ram/Jeep 5.7 Hemi engine tick.
  • NO PSI’s will be offered on: AS IS

Online Courtesy Drive $100

  • Opinion ONLY (No Guarantee)
  • Vehicle must be purchased online and does not qualify for a regular PSI SOLD with GREEN LIGHT
  • Buyer will be charged $50 for vehicles that fail.

Regular PSI’s

  • FRAME GUARANTEE $50
    10 years old or LESS. Any mileage, 7 days regardless of when picked up or 150 miles – whichever comes first.
  • 2-Day Mechanical Guarantee $100
    15 years old or less and under 150,000 miles. 2 days regardless of when picked up or 100 miles – whichever comes first.
  • 7-Day Mechanical Guarantee $125
    10 years old or less, Under 140,000 miles. 7 days regardless of when picked up or 150 miles – whichever comes first.
  • 7-Day Mechanical and Frame Guarantee $135
    10 years old or less under 140,000 miles. 7 days regardless of when picked up or 150 miles – whichever comes first.

Post Sale Inspections

  • With exceptions, vehicles purchased online with no PSI become AS-IS 2 hours after purchase.
  • Vehicles not eligible for PSI become AS-IS 2 hours after purchase.
  • We will not offer post-sale inspections on vehicles that are 8 years or older or more than 100,000 miles: Cadillac, Lexus, Subaru, Volvo, and Volkswagen, and Police and Government vehicles.
  • No Guarantee on any Nissan with CVT transmissions, or Dodge/Ram/Jeep 5.7 Hemi engine tick.
  • No diesels will be inspected to Green Light standards. All Diesels inspected up to yellow light standards only.
  • Vehicles run as a "Special (S)" are not eligible for PSI.
  • NO PSI's will be offered on: AS-IS, under $3000 bid price, Lemon buy-back, flood damage, true mileage unknown, and Salvage titles or Structural damage.
  • Buyer should be familiar with lights
  • NOTICE: Any Vehicle Purchased Online in Excess of 140,000 Miles or more than 10 years old is NOT eligible for a Post-Sale Inspection. NO EXCEPTIONS

Guarantee Under Post-Sale Inspection

  • Guarantee on Mechanical to vehicles less than 140,000 miles and 10 years old or less. Guarantee 7 days regardless of when picked up or 150 miles, whichever comes first (voided in the event of collision or damage due to transportation).
  • Electrical only covered on vehicles up to 4 years old.
  • Auction guarantees against “visible” frame, cross member damage, aprons, upper reinforcement rail damage or replaced (unibody). Damage to roof support, pillars, rocker panel damaged, repaired or replaced (unibody). Floor panels torn, perforated or replaced. Frame or unibody altered.

Repairs

  • Any repairs under Post Sale Guarantee must be approved by Auction.
  • GLAA will pay up to $3,000, subject to limitations and approval.
  • Single item defects less than $800 are deemed minor and not subject to arbitration.

Condition Reports

  • Condition reports are available on vehicles less than 10 yrs old and less than 140,000 miles for fee of $15
  • Condition reports are available on vehicles up to 15 yrs old and 175,000 miles for fee of $20
  • Exception Condition reports are available on all fleet and repo vehicles regardless of age and miles
  • Condition reports are a guide there is no guarantee on accuracy of information found in condition report

Vehicle Storage Policy

  • GLAA is not liable for physical damage to a vehicle ,theft of contents or the vehicle itself, or any general liability while vehicles are being bought, sold or on consignment
  • All vehicles not picked up within 45 days of sale date shall be subject to $20 per day storage fee thereafter
  • Vehicles on property after 90 days from date of sale will be disposed of by GLAA, fees will be held from proceeds.

Arbitration

  • In-lane arbitration ends 2 hours after purchase or 1 hour after last car crosses the block.
  • Includes "IF" sales; PSI's must be requested on Thursday.
  • Online/in-lane buyers agree to terms. No frame arbitration on salvage/rebuilt or vehicles over 10 years old.
  • Title announcements (e.g., salvage) not eligible for PSI.
